What is Crystal Infused Water and Why is it Important?

The craze for crystal-infused water started a few years ago. Did you miss it?

Those days, everyone was buying a type of crystal-infused bottle to get pumped up with the benefits it claims to offer.

Do we believe infusing crystals in water is beneficial? We absolutely do!

As a matter of fact, adding crystals to water is the 4th stage of our water filtration process.

If you’re new to everything about crystals, let’s start at the very beginning.

What are crystals?

A crystal comprises matter formed from an ordered arrangement of atoms, molecules, or ions. The lattice that forms extends out in three dimensions.

For the longest time, crystals have been believed to contain several healing properties with measurable results with science to support them.

In the ancient form of medicine, Priests used crystals to balance the body’s chakras.

These chakras are the energy centers of your body, found along the spine. They begin at the base of the spine and extend to the crown of your head.

Your chakras need to stay open, aligned, and balanced to function optimally. When your chakras are open, they also spin and allow energy to follow throughout your body.

However, If one of your chakras is blocked, you may experience emotional or physical symptoms related to that chakra.

The use of crystals to promote peace and strength and keep our bodies balanced didn’t stop with ancient times. They are still widely used today.

Adding crystals to water

Humans are made up of 50-78% of water. This percentage decreases to 60% for men and 50-55% for women as we grow older, with babies having the highest percentage.

Since water is the building block of our cells, we can now understand why the doctors have been hammering us to get enough clean water into our bodies.

As we noticed, the craze for crystal-infused water didn’t start a few years back. People have been using gem-infused water for their spiritual and physical well-being. Infusing crystals into water is a great way to bring the healing properties it possesses into our body.

Crystals have energy. They are able to represent specific frequencies and are charged with only the highest vibe energy.

Water itself is an energetic medium. It has been called a liquid crystal. Water has been found to hold or memorize the energy and frequency of objects around it. Dr. Masuru Emoto demonstrated this in his book.

He showed that emotional frequencies from music and thoughts could change the structure of water when frozen.

When the charged crystal with its positive energy is added to water, water retains that energy and is an energetic medium. The retained vibration manifests the crystal’s healing properties, leading to spiritual, emotional, and physical health.

A little note of caution

Not all crystals are to be infused in water. Some crystals contain toxic or harmful substances that should not be consumed.

I know you have a gemstone sitting pretty right now in your jewelry box. However, it is not advisable to just put any crystal in water and drink it.

At the Waterbar, we only infuse crystals that have been cleared safe for consumption.

Quartz-based crystals are by far the most used as they are non-toxic. They include amethyst, rose quartz, clear quartz, aventurine, and carnelian.

Benefits of Drinking Crystal-infused water

Crystals possess healing power that allows positive and fruitful energy to flow into your body and balance some negative energy.

When crystal energy comes into contact with your body’s vibration, they merge and begin to vibrate at the same frequency. This helps you to feel better and puts you at ease.

Drinking crystal water can increase your creativity and concentration. Don’t forget we mentioned earlier that it’s effective for balancing your body’s chakras.

Crystals can also induce a placebo effect in the body. This helps in medical treatment and has been proven scientifically.

Other benefits include:

  • It aids optimal digestion
  • Helps the immune system to function at its best
  • Promotes good quality of sleep
  • Detoxifies the body
  • Increase energy levels

Scientifically proven or just jazz

Most of the claims on the benefits of crystal-infused water have not been scientifically proven.

In an interview with three experts, it was concluded that although the benefits associated with drinking crystal-infused water might not be scientifically proven, the fact cannot be denied that users are actually benefiting from it.

Kate Denniston, a naturopathic doctor based in Los Angeles, believes that if users attest to the benefits of crystal-infused water, then there are likely benefits. She added that there are many things we don’t know yet, and pointed to the placebo effect.

Another expert, Elizabeth Trattner, a licensed acupuncturist and integrative medicine practitioner, explained that Gem Elixirs are energy medicine. She added that not long ago, sound therapy, acupuncture, reiki, and homeotherapy were considered pseudoscience, but now, there are clinical trials and evidence to back them up.

Martha Lawder believes that if drinking crystal-infused water will make you drink more water, by all means, drink. However, she noted that the benefits might come from drinking the “water” itself.

We agree with all the experts. Science disagreed with many concepts at their onset, but most of them have been proven.

Also, if the benefits of crystal-infused water to the body have been seen for thousands of years, right from ancient Chinese medicine to our time, then something must be right.

How to make your crystal-infused water

Making your crystal-infused water is relatively easy. Two methods can help you achieve this, the direct and indirect methods.

You have to be clear about what you want to achieve for either method and visualize it as you hold the crystal. After doing this for a minimum of 10 minutes, you are ready to begin.

Direct method

For this method, you’re adding the crystal directly to the water.

First, cleanse your crystal by soaking them in cold salt water for up to 3 days. You can choose to leave it out under the full moon to soak up lunar energy.

After the stone is soaked, place it in your pitcher of purified water, and leave it overnight. By the next day, your crystal-infused water will be ready for use.

Indirect Method

This method is safe as the crystals aren’t coming in contact with the water. Although, it can also be used for non-toxic crystals. If you’re sure of the type of crystals you have and if it’s safe for consumption, this route is the way to go.

After cleansing your crystals by soaking them in cold saltwater, put them in a bowl. Put clean water in another jar, and seal it. Put the water jar in the bowl that has the crystals.

Arrange the crystals so that they are around the bottom of the water jar. Leave for 48 hours. After which it’s ready for use.

With this method, you can also choose to put the bowl under the moon for the crystals to soak up lunar energy as the water picks it up.
